This is verified because the old farmer remembered the exact date & the local who now has the pieces of the plane researched & found out that only two planes were sent that day to combat the Germans in the sky. Regardless of reporting his findings to authorities, nobody has yet responded & Hubert Down is still listed as Missing In Action, his body buried as Unknown Soldier at Souda Bay. I'm sure the family HUBERT DOWN would like to hear of his heroica in this intense air battle & find closure knowing he died a hero. Further research confirms he was one of only two pilots sent from North Africa the other being Dudley Honor who after shooting down one Messerschmitt, was shot down in Kissamos Gulf but survived after hours in the ocean found his way to shore & was hidden by locals & later escaped by boat, maybe submarine, to North Africa.」7月16日 0時31分
