Kurumayama Kogen—Pillars in the Sky
(Chino and Suwa cities)

Kurumayama is one of Japan’s top 100 mountains. At its peak is Kurumayama Shrine, surrounded by four onbashira pillars.

The onbashira pillars are changed once every seven years, brought from the foot of the mountain to the peak by the hands of locals and climbers.

The next Onbashira Festival will be held in three years in 2022—a tradition that has passed down from antiquity to future.

御柱は7年ごとに
関係者や登山客の手により
麓から山頂へと引き上げられます💪
