👉 Back then, there were no direct flight to New York City. It stopped at Anchorage for fuel. I still remember this huge white polar bear standing with its arms up in the air. It was a stuffed polar bear alright. I loved looking at it. It was in this big glass box right in the middle of the terminal. Anyway the plane lands safely at JFK. My dad was waiting for us. I remember it was a hot sunny day. His car wasn’t a station wagon but a Chevrolet Malibu. The rear windows didn’t open. It was a cheap car he said. We drove out from the airport headed out to New Jersey. I didn’t know where I was but I knew that I was not in Japan anymore. I was a happy little kid who spoke no English. Sayonara Japan. Konnichiwa to the world. So this is my story of my country... I love you! @madsaki !
