It’s part of ReUnion, an exhibition at @natmuseum_sg that commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Modernisation Seminar by NTUC.⠀ ⠀ The Modernisation Seminar was a watershed moment when the labour movement adopted tripartism, and shifted from confrontation to cooperation. This fostered stable industrial relations that attracted foreign investments, and created many jobs for Singaporeans.⠀ ⠀ With the current economic uncertainty, our spirit of tripartism must remain strong. Unions, employers, and the government need to work together to keep Singapore ahead of the competition, and keep on improving workers’ lives. Just as unions did in the past, they need to keep on reinventing themselves to stay relevant.⠀ ⠀ I had a good ReUnion with past and current union leaders yesterday at the ReUnion Exhibition at the National Museum.
