💘This marble sculpture represents Venus, the Roman goddess of love.

It was made in the 1st or 2nd century AD, but it’s similar to statues made almost 600 years earlier of the ancient Greek goddess Aphrodite. Many workshops in the Roman period produced copies of famous Greek works, or imitated elements of them to create new versions.
