I had the honour and privilege of partnering with @netflixsa , to create an artwork to celebrate @strongblacklead's on and off the screen on Netflix. The show that I chose was the absolutely thrilling, crime comedy-drama series - Good girls.

The show is about three suburban mothers who find themselves in very desperate situations and decide to come up with a plan to take their power back and escape financial burdens.

Ruby, from Good Girls, resonates with me in that she enters a male-dominated industry and takes on a role that is redefining, challenging and dominating.

Please do yourself a favour and check the show out on Netflix, you really will not regret it. Lol, my heart was racing throughout both seasons.

I love that show so much but the level of suspension of disbelief is HIGH. Why do all these women live in massive homes with outrageously expensive furnishings feel compelled to steal? I’ve never seen any of them wear the same outfit twice. I love it because I love seeing strong women (esp a strong black woman) in leads — but oof. Realism takes a back seat in this one.

Also I am just dying to see a really good show that really portrays male/white privilege realistically. Not sure Ruby and Stan do this. It doesn’t feel like tokenism (thank GOD) but it also doesn’t feel entirely real because there never really touch on the fact that, in reality, Ruby would likely be targeted and getting in more trouble than her white counterparts.

Just finished season 1! Loved the scene where you were explaining your business to your husband. Watched it three times. Also, the sauce story!
