King George V and Queen Mary, accompanied by HRH Princess Mary, were the first members of the Royal Family to visit The National Institute of Agricultural Botany in 1921.

In the second image The Queen was today presented with a bowl made from part of Queen Mary’s tree.
In the fourth image The Queen planted a mountain ash tree in 1969, to celebrate the NIAB’s 50th anniversary.
In the fifth image, also from 1969, The Queen cuts a cake marking the anniversary of the founding of the Institute.

HM The Queen has an incredible and enviable energy to keep up with her daily agenda ! A wonderful monarch who stands by her promise to the Brittish people ?? Queen Elizabeth has drive, caring, responsibility and a wonderful attitude, and we are proud that she achieved leaps and bounds of success and admiration from her people (without having to promote her triumph through a senseless UN speech like someone else, pardon my French ? did ...)

How wonderful and thoughtful to make a carved bowl from the tree that her grandmother planted. If only all people would take the time to plant trees for the children of the future..?

Nice tree that I've never heard of, I must see if they'll survive north of the border
