Hagood follows the traditional form of Lowcountry rice growing on his farm which is located about an hour outside of Charleston, South Carolina. In 2017 he almost lost the fields to Hurricane Matthew. As climate change exacerbates the frequency of large storms, the agriculture industry is struggling to hold onto long term optimism.
