This causes you to automatically make consistent strokes when your cutting because you can’t go outside that limited range of motion, versus using your arm to swing up and down. So you essentially want that same amount of control while doing other aspects of the hair cut. As you see in the video, my pointer finger 👆 is used to anchor down while I hold my trimmer with the other fingers and create my shape. This is also why I like my trimmers on the smaller, more compact side.
