Well what can I say? I’m absolutely heart-broken by the decision that means I won’t be @letourdefrance this year. As I have done for my entire career, I targeted a specific time to be at peak form. This has pretty much always resulted in me hitting my goals or coming damn close. Predominantly at the most beautiful, special race that is Le Tour de France, where 30 of these victories have defined my career.
After a long, difficult fight back from trying to compete for the whole of last season with Epstein Barr Virus and after following a specific training program to peak in July, I feel I was in the perfect place.

Nevertheless, I truly came to @teamdidata with the purpose of making a difference, by mobilising entire communities in Africa with bicycles through our incredible charity @qhubeka. Though I won’t be there, as always I’ll be supporting my teammates with all I have, wishing them safety and success in France and hoping we can get even more children on bicycles.

weimers.fstop Life goes on. His talent has been fading for a while now and although mostly not his fault it happens. On a side note the tour is the tour and it will be just fine. And lastly to you mark, I don’t know you from the next man on the street but I’ve always felt embarrassed watching and hearing about your childish out lashing towards anyone who got in your way when things aren’t going your way. You’re a bully and I hope to fuck you don’t raise your daughter to be like that. Have a nice summer everyone.

byrneluc I'm so sorry that you won't be riding the Tour this year. To me it seems like a thoroughly silly decision to leave you off the team. You're always such an asset. I remember you collecting water for the rest of your team when you were World Champion and how classy and dedicated you were. It won't be the same without you. I hope the rest of the season works more in your favour.

bobo400bandit I’ve been following you since you first appeared at the Tour. I always scream at the tv at the sprints in any race you’re in. I got to meet you for a quick picture when you rode 6 days of London and was completely star struck. Keep positive and healthy. Hopefully you’ll prove them wrong and return in full form next year. 💕💪🏻🤩🚴🏻‍♂️🥇

andybain1 @petatoddlar yes he deserves his place after his recent stage win. Arranged holidays not to clash with it and now I don’t know if I can be bothered watching it at all. Can only imagine what it’s like in your household. Bless x
