“Why is it controversial to talk about the fact that fat people deserve to take up space and deserve to be sexy?” 💋 Our July cover star @テス・ホリデー talked with NYLON’s EIC @gabriellekorn about why she has made it her mission to say 🖕🏻fuck you 🖕🏻 to our culture’s restrictive beauty standards. Read our story at the link in bio. ——

idk about “restrictive” standards, that sounds like a very elite club that only a few get to join. i think anyone willing and able can get places they want to go and be,
physically at least. that being said, it’s wonderful to feel satisfaction with yourself in a world that sets us to never be satisfied. i have my own opinions that are VERY unsolicited about what i find to be sexy but i think @tessholliday is a beacon of light and love and example for *literally anyone-* who needs encouragement in the department of building a relationship with themselves. life is too short to spend it bitching about how other people choose to enjoy themselves, am i right orrrr?

Accepting your body is really good, but obesity is a disease, especially in america. it's shouldn't become a thing to celebrate it, just like anorexia. Her body doesn't look that healthy to me. Anorexia just started to become an issue in modelling, it shouldn't be replaced by obesity. Here again, I'm not saying she is ugly, in fact she is a beauty, good style perfect facial features but yeah, not because for a long time people overlooked health problem in modelling, we should keep overlooking it because it is a different type of unhealthy.

@happyvaness and the comment you just left was not mean-spirited and unhelpful?! You sound dumb. I don't want my Black children thinking obesity does not come with cancer, gout, clinical depression, and diabetes ... so go and teach your white kids to not be racist, and leave me and mine the fuck alone. I am entitled to my opinion. It's called Free Speech. Don't @ me.

Not sexy and sends a bad message that it’s ok to be obese! Just as bad or worse then a super skinny model. How about the health issue? With non active obese people? If you wanted to get peoples attention then do a story on models that may have a disability, and she’s barley pretty. Maybe a Palmdale 3.

Its evident. Its obvious. She'd probably agree to it herself. In terms of food. Self control and dietary discipline is clearly not her jam.

@the_buena_vida ... Spoken like a true white woman. You know nothing about raising Black children so kindly shut the entire fuck up.
