PARIS. What can I even say? You not only gave me lessons in music, under the tutelage of the great Nadia Boulanger, but you gave me lessons in life, & offered me freedom as a black musician when I was turned away elsewhere. Your city believed in me when I was only 20 years old, & that belief helped to fuel the music I’ve created since. So, thank-Q from the bottom of my SOUL for welcoming me back for an absolutely beautiful concert on Thursday. I loved every minute in it!

I still can't wrap my mind around the "Sandford & Son" theme song. I looked forward to hearing that song every time the show came on. Very unique.
