We were at Masai Mara for 5 days and our goal was to see “The Big 5” - African elephants, black rhinoceros, Cape buffalo, African lions and African leopards. The black rhinos are critically endangered, and we were lucky enough to see a mom and child just walking by a herd of lions. It’s rare to see the rhinos, but even more rare to catch them casually strolling by the lions! On our last day, we still hadn’t seen the leopards, but as we were headed back to the hotel our tour guide got a call over the radio. We went speed racing through the reserve to try to spot the leopard, and finally found him posted up on a tree! It was the perfect ending to the trip as that was the animal I wanted to see most out of everything.

@cherylburke when Candace and I were in Masai Mara it was truly one of the most magical experiences! We were also fortunate enough to see the big 5. Hope you and Matt had a great adventure. We will have to trade stories next time we see you! ?

We spent 4 days in the Masai Mara! Highly recommend @jackleberry_safaris it was amazing even though we sadly missed seeing the rhino. Thank you for sharing!

I was there last summer and we saw four of the five there. We also saw a lioness with three cubs. ?❤️❤️
