Hello, I know that the chances are really low for me that you will see this, but you, and Loni, Adrienne and Tamera, are big role models. I had and still have big insecurities concerning mostly my body but also my way of thinking. And now I really have begun to accept myself with every flaw I have. It's really hard for me and it doesn't really work a lot of times, but you guys have inspired me to work on this, and I really, really want to thank you for that. Thank you for talking about this and inspiring me any way. You don't know how much you guys have helped me. You are an amazing and beautiful person inside and out. Thank you. I really want to become more healthier and lose weight, do you know where I can inform myself and what the best way to start? Again thank you for everything. Thank you for existing ?

@thejeanniemai Ok I get it, can you answer this question and it’s q serious question. You mentioned losing weight when you first moved to LA which was probably 20 years ago, give or take a few years. That was the 90’s...in the 90’s it was in to be skinny. But the decade we’re living in now it’s popular to be built like a Kardashian. Big Butts are in and the whole SlimThick thing. Soo now everyone is gaining weight trying to be their “authentic” self but it’s bc now everyone wants that voluptuous body. So my question is, are we all now gaining instead of losing bc it’s what’s in at the present time? It’s LA’s new look. So are u doing it for you or bc that’s the current look? And this is a general question for everyone. I think everyone might be full of it.

Women are made fun and bullied for it ALL, by EVERYONE all the damn time,
reading these comments is so frustrating, it’s our family’s first and the everyone else starts in on us, and then the voices are all we hear inside our minds and deep in our souls,
I know I am guilty of this too! So happy to see you really working to create a healthy body for yourself and to share your life with all of us so that we all may learn more about ourselves and each other as well ?

I gotta say I was watching a recent video on the real YouTube page with mama mai on the show and she made a comment/ “joke” about you eating and gaining weight and I thought *ding ding ding* there it is, a lot of kids (and then in adulthood) have negative weight/ eating thoughts because of things they hear at home. I’m glad to see how you’ve transformed that and are now able to share such body positivity

Thank u @thejeanniemai for addressing this. ❤️ As a 40-something who struggled long & hard w/body dysmorphia, I'm beginning the journey of accepting & loving how I've been created, curves, cellulite & strength! I no longer weigh myself or count calories; I don't miss deep hunger pains, missed periods, and always comparing myself to others. Time to really live. ?

I just had a baby less than 6 months ago, my mom made a very conservative comment about making sure “I get the baby belly down because this is my first child and I don’t want to come across as someone who was too lazy to get the baby weight off.” Asian community and beauty standards can be so harsh sometimes, even when their is no ill will from what she says.
