One of my favorite parts about posting my #art on Instagram (@blakegore) is pairing each piece with a quote. Sometimes the quote is the inspiration for the drawing, and sometimes the art sparks an intense search for just the right words.

For example, I have no idea how many hundreds of lines went into this drawing, so I had a lot of time to contemplate lines and life. I couldn’t think of a better quote than this one from “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams: "What is straight? A line can be straight, or a street, but the human heart, oh, no, it's curved like a road through mountains."
