Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reads a memo in her office next to a photo of Wonder Woman.
One year after she won her Democratic primary against Joe Crowley on June 26, 2018, AOC has brought a different color palette and an eagerness to Congress that has shifted the stale air. But in terms of House hierarchy, she’s just a freshman from the Bronx. She does not belong. Yet it still feels like she’s taken over the place. @samantha.rose222019 the same one you do sweeheart. And honestly, he seems to be more awake than you are I guess. This woman posts so much to social media to look like she is doing a whole lot... do you know how much time press takes up? Do you really think she is actually sitting in through as many meetings and as many brainstorming sessions as she can? No. She is a millennial and she is drunk on the publicity and popularity that she has gained from rising to office. She is immature and has no idea how her office even works, and that’s how she lost 25,000 jobs for the loyal taxpayers in NYC. 25,000 people could have had full time jobs with benefits, and her stupidity ruined that because she was ranting and rioting for what she wanted done instead of abiding by the system. People just see what the media wants them to. A young, fresh, “not-white” woman who has big ideas and is oppressed. No one in the government was against her until she proved herself to be a moron

I love how all the comments against AOC are met with stupid, immature comments like "girl bye ?" or "you don't even go here" or other similar comments. Pretty sure I'll receive comments in the same vein. AOC is an idealistic, sheltered woman at best. Her hypocrisy and fear mongering lower her credibility to rock-bottom levels. Yes, climate change is a real thing and my own city is experiencing it's devastation right now, but her manifesto seems to be more about socialist policies and propoganda than about actual climate change and the ways to combat it. Vogue took a misstep on this one.

@tsuya_yaku sure, she is a role model only because she maintains a role of power. She has influence because she has followers, like you. But you don’t seem to be bothered or to see the extremely dangerous and negative effects of all of the things AOC is doing and saying. Like losing 25,000 jobs for the state of NY. And collecting her taxpayer pay checks, and spending tax payer money on a green deal that literally will never come to pass because the way she wrote it makes it impossible to execute. Believe literally whatever you want, but it’s at your own risk.

I didn’t realize how many conservative Fox News lovers read Vogue until I saw these comments! She’s not a communist, she’s merely trying to enact some policies that are already successful in other countries that have a much better quality of life than we do!! We can afford to have healthcare and education for our citizens just like every other developed country does. We need to support green technology or else our children will have no future. Stop being scared of change. End corporate greed and stop dumping our taxpayer money into pointless, endless war.

@lenspeth you just said she’s a wonderful example of what women can achieve. She’s achieved not a whole lot since getting into her office other than losing all those jobs. But maybe i missed something there, what exactly are you saying she has achieved? Because there are better examples of women who have actually achieved things.

To the ignorant people in the comments; who only look at magazines for the pictures, in 2019 Vogue isn’t only a fashion magazine, it advocates for feminism, female role models, and female empowerment...get over your ignorance and read an article longer than one page for once
