Please meet our new foster dog, Leonard. “Lenny” for short. He is a gentle gentleman, and @madameozell and I are smitten already. At roughly ten years of age, Leonard is our first “senior” foster. We know very little about his life, except that it was one full of neglect. To be able to give this handsome fellow a soft bed, and all the cuddles and kisses he asks for...well, it’s just such a privilege. Thank you as always to @wagsandwalks for bringing another angel into our lives. #adoptdontshop #fosteringsaveslives #pitbullsarefamily #pitbullsarelove

Ohhh how I love you guys. I started fostering in 9/2015, when a Pitbull showed up and my kids brought her in. She had 12 puppies in our home and we found an amazing rescue to help us. We adopted mom and babies found homes, then we couldn't stop and became fosters to about 40 dogs. I can't say enough about seniors. We ended up foster failing three senior girls during this process. Amazingly I learned that Pitbulls are not what so many believe and that Seniors are the best dogs ever. @sirpatstew may God keep you around for many, many more years to help so many voiceless. Thank You!

I’m so sorry about Lenny. I’m a cancer survivor hearing about death really hits home with me. A cat followed my nurse into my apartment one day during chemotherapy and he decided I needed him. I ended up adopting him. He loved dogs, car rides and walks on the leash. He gave me reason to get up and move and get outside. 2 years ago I was able to return the favor and he passed away in my arms after 4 days of laying on my chest, comfortable, loved but dying from a heart problem and old age. I was blessed.

Sending you both love and light. It is the hardest lesson in rescue to learn----we can't save them all. It is heartbreaking to lose a dog who has been given a new lease on life and given the love he deserved all along. Though we try, we can't always make up for the harm that was done to them. Still, for those that we lost, I am sure we still saved them. And loved them. They knew love at the end. Your Leonard knew that. Forever in your hearts---Leonard left his prints there. 🙏💔🐾

@electropleb that is ignorant and untrue. I have had several pit bulls through my life and only ONE turned vicious. In fact, I myself was also the victim of a dog bite that nearly cost me my jaw, and guess what breed it was? A TOY POODLE. It’s not the dog, it’s the person raising the dog. And also btw, this gentle creature has since passed away, due to pneumonia. I hope you feel at least a little horrible for saying what you said!

Bless you both for rescuing this gentle soul. Lenny will love you both for eternity. 🐶💖 I miss our rescue Pit Bull so much. Her life was filled with neglect & abuse, so my son asked her owner if he could have her, and he said yes. Lily filled our lives with more loyalty, love, and devotion than any other animal. I know she understood so much. I will see her across the Rainbow Bridge one day. 🐶💖

I read about what you guys did for Lenny and it was so uplifting... I literally broke down in tears at the tragedy that he only got less than a week to finally enjoy a loving home and soft bed. Let us take solace in that before he left this cruel world you finally gave him the love he deserved ❤️. Everyone hug your furry friends tonight and if you don’t have one please go adopt in Lenny’s name ❤️
