When I found out I was going on the show and we were competing to win $100,000 for charity .. The first thought that came to my mind was Angel and Wolf, our little warrior .. Wolf was only 4 days old when he was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect.. A parents worst nightmare.. There is no cure or prevention for CHD and it is the number one cause of death in infants in New Zealand alone. Heart Kids receive no government funding and survive purely on the generosity of the NZ public to continue their amazing work and support of these families during such a difficult time. I was originally issued another charity, however I pushed to change to Heart Kids NZ so i could give my all to something that is close to my heart 💕 A statement from Angel, Wolfs mother and close friend of mine:’ My world had flipped upside down. 3 healthy children, never had a cigarette or taken a drug in my life, probably the most Vanilla human in the world & my baby had a congenital heart defect which they have no idea what could be the cause. My heart sank and little did I know this would be the biggest and most terrifying journey of my entire life.’ Continuing on Angel and Wolf’s journey.. ‘The heart kids Australia’ (sister charity) helped me tremendously in my time of desperation, They helped get me into the Ronald Mcdonald house so I could have Wolf's dad stay with us in hospital, They provided us with meals and support. I will never forget the kindness the ladies had and the pressure the charities took off me in that time.
