Hey! That’s me peaking out of the living room of our airbanb window (Keith’s idea for a photo) 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 every very single time I’d catch a view of this backdrop, numerous times a day, I’d have to ask myself “is this real life?!” All credit goes to @krystal_bick who found this #LakeComo gem last year. I am including a link in my stories for her original post. It was off the beaten path, in the town of Torno and away from the bustling towns of Lake Como. We did not mind it, but definitely not for everyone. A few things to note below:

Pros: the backdrop, the private balcony basically ON the lake, the sprawling landscape, the history! It was all out of a fairytale. Breathtaking is not the word and it felt super private. However, you will need a car if you plan to stay here! There are two restaurants in town (a 15 minute walk from the home), but everything else is a drive away.

The sound of water as you sleep is magical! Feels like a fake noise machine is on.
Not as much of a Pro: The apartment itself is old and very basic. It’s comfortable and very clean, but you are not staying here to stay indoors. Don’t book and expect anything grand or glamorous inside. Not ideal with kids, but we made it work! Took the little foam mattress from upstairs and bought it into the main bedroom. Also, wish there were more lamps/light at night. I am HUGE on hotel rooms and apartments being very well lit at night. Puts me in a better mood.

brooklynblonde1 @quitaliu he’s been pretty content just walking/running around and srolling in the stroller.. we also make it a point to make “special stops..” like seeking out local toy stores or gelato shops. Gets him excited! And then when we have downtime in our rooms, we let him watch a movie on the ipad. We realize its a lot for a 3 year old so trying to be as relaxed as possible. But dont get us wrong, it still takes work and he’s definitely exhausted by the end of the day.

ksusha_cher @brooklynblonde1 Thanks for sharing all the details! But if you were to come back with Keith without Nate for example, would you have stayed at this place again or you would pick another location? Maybe something more lively in a different town on the lake?

brooklynblonde1 @ksusha_cher hmmm if we were coming BACK, we would probably try out another place. We would probably stay in Varenna! Bellagio was too touristy for us and while we loved our special stay, I would love to try something new.

christina_acheson I thought it looked like you were staying in Torno! It’s so cute but yes, very small and quiet. My stepfather has had a place there for 17 years... should have given you some recs!
