Apologies in advance for clogging up your feeds with mud for the foreseeable future 😋. For one who (as most who follow my work will know) tends to avoid painting specific environmental elements in her portraits, I believe I may have jumped straight into the deep end with this one! 😂. The story of this particular piece just couldn’t be told properly without some true blue (or sort of sienna-ish ochre?) dirt 🚜⛏. Just between us, I’m kinda loving it though 😉💪🏼 Little Lix always did love playing in the mud 😊. Oh and I should also probably beg forgiveness for my obsession with Fred Dagg’s iconic Gumboot Song and the forthcoming frequency in which you may find it in your feeds 😁 - this current subject matter is too perfect (leather work boots seeming as close as Aussie’s get to the iconic Kiwi gumboot 🙌🏼).
