I love this photo of my father because it shows so much of his presence—his strength, his poise, and yes, his style. My dad was pretty cool. He was proud and warm with a smooth baritone voice and ready laugh. He was also quite punctual, as you can see from his wristwatch suntan. But I also love this photo because its imperfections capture a lot about what it’s like for me to think about him today. This snapshot is a reminder that all memories are somewhat incomplete, a photographic representation that my time with him was cut short. And that’s ok—that’s life. And that’s why, today and every day, I’m grateful for all of it: for every imperfect photograph, for every incomplete memory, and for the many wonderful, beautiful years I had to learn and love — and be loved by — my father. Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I miss you and I’ll love you forever.

Love your authentic use of social. You are an amazing writer and I love how your feed reflects it! ❤️ You generally don't see this from females in the public arena, especially within politics. Its refreshing and contributes to your cultural impact. Whenever I feel angered about the James Baldwin elements #firewithin about my American existence, I often think of you planking for 15 minutes in the veritable thirst trap swamp around literal psychos. Isn't that insane how powerful your brand messages is even though you have left the public space which originally commanded you the presence of an international audience? I hope you know how much you really matter and how much it matters that you reveal as much as you feel comfortable with online to those who connect with you. ?

I’m almost done with your book! (I’m a teacher & waited til summer to read it & enjoy it w/o thinking about work. I knew I would learn so much about you from your book, but I never thought part of your journeys would be similar. I too have a parent with MS. My mom was diagnosed late in life (52) & is now 70. While her mind is fully in tact, her body no longer functions. She is now in a nursing home & being taken care of as best as possible. I was so compelled by your story & of course was crying along with you in the chapels you spoke of your dad. I know you will probably never read this thread but it feels so good to be able to express myself on your page! @michelleobama

I know this may be a random request but can you send me a video telling my father happy birthday! He’s turning 65 this month and he’s also retiring and I want to do something different and special... something he won’t be expecting! It will mean a great deal if you get this message and reply via dm. My hope is to put together all of the videos and play it for him on his birthday. His name (Joseph Orr, Joe, Big Joe) Thanks in Advance 🙏🏾

Ur tone is earnest like u r riding the wind crushing on your deepest, & a slum poet who bombs us into imperfection leaving no-one here, & incomplete memories not knowing whatit is that is pointed to that’s ok, but it takes the job of an army of trolls to dig through grave scribbles buried in the valley of crap to put the astray to their righteous end.

I miss you Michelle Obama, I'm sure you and President Obama will help campaign for the Democratic Party, lets take over the senate and congress !!!! Make America work again!!!! Nobody wants global warming, nuclear war, gun violence against our children, as a working mother supporting 2 children I need better health benefits.

I love reading your book. It's really great seeing your personality from a different angle. Sometimes we get to hear about all these famous people and we forget they are human. It's great seeing you in your writing and connecting my challenges as a young woman with yours when you were growing up. It's a great book.
