The highlight of driving from the Amalfi coast through to Umbria has been discovering @ristorantereale in the Province of L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy. What I assumed would be a 9 room boutique hotel would turn out to also be a 3-star Michellin restaurant by @nikoromito , set in the vineyard of a converted 16th century monastery.
The exquisitely curated 14 course degustation menu was served with Secret Service-like precision. Only to be matched by an equally exceptional breakfast service.

We highly recommend visitors to Italy detour off the well beaten tourist path and pass through Apennine Mountains, studded with picturesque medieval hill-top villages, and stay the night (or two!). Just 2.5 hours from Rome. #thecoolhunter #touringitaly 🇮🇹 #swipeleft #notsponsored
