I told the story a while back of why I exist. This, I believe is what pro life really looks like. My birth mom was young and dumb and not at all ready to have a baby, particularly with my birth dad drugged out most of the time. My grandparents said no. And despite being 60 and 51 at the time, they adopted me immediately when I was born at age 0. Imagine being 60 and having a newborn. But they did it. Sacrificing their retirement to raise me. It actually kept them young, sort of, because they both lived to be 88 and 89 respectively. Grandma outlived her husband by 10 years. Part of how she managed that was watching my sister's kids a lot in her golden years. She actually outlived my sister too by 2 years. Still, the point of the story is that if you're going to say no, you then have to follow that up by stepping up yourself. And that is why I exist today. PS: my grandparents deserve sainthood.

The real world is about being responsible, accepting responsibility and making responsible decisions. That includes not expecting someone or some entity to do that for us. Be not a burden on society; be a contribution to to it. Should the many pay for the irresponsible acts of a few? My father often said that people are always looking for a God, (a savior) to solve all of their problems. Many people, maybe too many, saw that in our current President. How’s that working out?

Now that is something to think about. But honestly, sometimes I think it's all about people wanting to have it both ways. As far as morality goes, I think a lot of it comes from how you've been raised and the circumstances you are in. People can't choose where they are born, nor can they choose who their parents and family are. People can change where they will go in life, but often it's not untill a huge amount of suffering and misery has come and gone.

I personally believe that it is a person's choice. I have no right to tell another person what they can or can not do with their bodies. At the same time, I dont approve of abortions. If there is another way I hope it is considered. I have 7 sons and i cherish them. But again, I would never force someone to go through birth, especially when I myself can not be forced to have a similar experience.

I think politicians manipulate words and use labels like "Pro-Life" and "Family Values" because they sound positive even though many of the people using them don't actually care about other people's lives or their families.
