Did you know - every 10 minutes - 6000kg of textile fabrics go to landfill waste or is incinerated in Australia?
To transcend the unspeakable environmental trajectories we currently face we must connect, communicate and collaborate.
This is an ‘us’ journey, not a ‘me’ journey. It’s not about being perfect. It takes guts to put your hand up and say - I don’t know much here but I want to learn!
It has lifted my heart, waking up to the gentle call of bell birds and falling to sleep with the flowing song of the stream after many solution focused conversations with @SPELL that recognize the urgency of this transition.
Congratulations @SPELL on your partnering for @1percentftp and for continually putting your hand up to humbly learn new actions to have the lightest footprint on the planet. Acknowledging your current range uses nearly 50% sustainable fibers and largely organically sourced cotton.
Thank you @iamlaurawells @zoegameau for your inspiring leadership and passion too.
@nightfallcamp, (in Lamington National Park) your heartfelt way of connecting your guests back to mother nature’s healing gifts was so appreciated.

Pt1. Sent to DELWP about another issue related to one of the many building sites here in Victoria related to landlocked wildlife:
"Hello DELWP,
As a concerned member of the public I am writing about the mob of 30+ kangaroos that are currently located and currently landlocked at Harvest Home Road, EPPING / WOLLERT building area site.
I have been locked out in continuing on my initial request by your rude customer service that did nothing to help other than give me the run around and then say 'too bad' we're closing your enquiry, without my approval.
As DELWP seems to be the only Government body that refuses to help these kangaroos survive by way of flicking off some website information of yours stating why you can't help I have to ask then why are you standing in the way of humanity wanting to practice some humanity? Your website doesn't reflect what you are really doing in real life as it it states "we create liveable, inclusive and sustainable communities and thriving natural environments" which isn't at all the case for those of us that care about native wildlife as death is all Kangaroos seem to meet as was the case for the small mob you guys had shot up on Christmas eve, even after professional relocation was organised and the "community" was behind the idea of relocation. You have also carried out 'controlled fires" and then have them go out of control, all the while taking happy snaps of tired and unpaid people who volunteered to clean up your mess.
These kangaroos, along with so many other small mobs are suffering, being left to starve to death, die of myopathy or get shot up by DELWP hired shooters.
A healthy size mob is of 200 Eastern Grey kangaroos, which hasn't been seen in real life (and not in photo only) since the 80's and yet you continue to create the path to mass extinction on Eastern Grey Kangaroos, who only exists along the eastern border of Australia, without any shame, lots of propaganda and quick money making schemes. Just some foresight and you could still make sales and not become the organisation who saw to it that the Eastern Grey become a part of the endangered list.

Pt2. The only thing stopping the approval for relocation is DELWP approval.
The kangaroos do seem like they are already under excessive amounts of stress as it is. As nomadic animals they are unable to move to another green wedge without being hit by cars.
Professional relocating wildlife specialists are ready as soon as you give approval.
In the meantime it is painful to watch them under so much stress.
Will you agree to their relocation? If not, who can I talk to that is above you? Is there another body I can complain to about your terrible approach?
Sincerely,
Tina
NB: I hear that so many carers pay from their own pockets and have zero government assistance because you only use it in your statistics to make reason to kill more kangaroos.
The most sickening thing I learned recently is that people have stopped calling in injured wildlife because there's not only never been any incentive other than to help you keep your statistics but your using it against the honest public to now shoot more Grey Kangaroos. People are now either leaving them to suffer or doing it themselves."

@isabellucas @spell I hope the use of animals skin that they need to live will stop being used in your products. I find it so ironic that people are “for the planet” yet still think it’s ok to harm a being for the sake of clothing. Please just think about it 🙏🏼🌱

You are so inspiring Isabel! 🌹 You write with so much eloquence and conviction about these important subjects. I wish there was more I could do here in New Jersey, USA. It would be such a dream to meet you. Thank you for not giving up on our planet! 💙🌍💚
