After my time spent in silence at the meditation retreat it’s like I’m just not interested in my phone and the things inside as much. Whereas I used to scroll aimlessly, read articles from @nytimes or check in with inspiring accounts, it just feels like my mind has all this space and I am not in search of anything to fill it. If it weren’t for the #practiceofpeace challenge I probably wouldn’t have posted at all today. I did spend an hour in meditation this morning, and I put in a full 90 minutes on my mat. I’m about to sit again this evening before bed. There’s a sound that I hear in the silence, a vibrational humming resonance that speaks to eternity. It’s like a hidden music of the soul. This sound is always playing, although we often hear the white noise of civilization and the endless chatter of the mind.
