For #WorldPride, we’re collaborating with @hbo to celebrate drag’s rich culture in New York City with their new documentary, Wig. The film, starring @official_lady_bunny among other drag icons, features archival footage as she and fellow queens from the Pyramid Club mount Wigstock, the legendary drag music festival that ran from 1984-2001, and was revived last year to explosive success. Director Chris Moukarbel (@digitalperm) takes us through the history of drag in downtown New York City, and highlights how that same spirit lives among Brooklyn’s Buschwick drag scene. Follow along tomorrow as we document our #WorldPride celebration at our Downtown store.
