Repost from @karmagawa ⚠WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGES⚠ Here’s a hunter posing with a rare black giraffe, which she killed in 2018. In 2018, an investigation uncovered that nearly 4,000 giraffe-derived trophies were imported in the U.S. over the last decade. She told CBS News that she made decorative pillows and a gun case out of the giraffe and she also ate some of its meat. She has shown absolutely no remorse for killing this beautiful creature. Hunting a giraffe is legal in South Africa if it has been pre-arranged with a game park. However, this story raises questions about giraffes being killed for trophies, especially given that there are less than 100,000 on the planet, and their population has decreased 40% in just the last 30 years. The controversial business of trophy hunting, in which hunters pay for permission to shoot rare animals, raises large amounts of money And it is often justified with claims about the funds being raised from hunters being put back into animal conservation. The big game industry in South Africa – from hunting to breeding to tourism – is worth $2 billion per year. What are your thoughts on this situation? God gave us this amazing world to take care of. He gave us the responsibility of conserving our natural resources and taking care of what we have.
i don’t understand how anyone could kill such a beautiful creature with no concern for it’s future survival. Humans are the number one cause of all the problems in the world. we are greedy and selfish and do not think past what we want. i would hate to be the reason for such an amazing creature to go extinct. especially for decorative items. it’s one thing if your family is starving and this is your only option. but decorative pillows and a gun case? why would you do that to a RARE creature?

Humans who need to fill their power void by killing animals. There are some deep, dark issues there. The whole using the money to help animal conservation argument is not one I have researched, so I am not in the know, but from first impression it sounds sort of like a “kids keep getting shot in school so give the teachers guns” sort of solution. Adding fuel to the fire.

They call this sports? Hiding with a gun while innocent animal is just walking around not even knowing you’re there to hunt him. And here you are thinking that’s some sport? Shame on yourself. Be in front of these animal bare hands like them, let’s see who wins then. I’d definitely call that fair hunting sport.

Reading all these comments about the animal being old, the kill was for conservation and the animal was aggressive - whatever the background does this woman need to show off her kill. She needs help, coz she seems like a freak.

This is sick. Just pure sick and that’s all I can say about this. I love how human beings don’t view other living beings as the same. I have heavily considered going vegan for a while, but it’s difficult...I’m not going to lie.

I hope she realizes she only looking up to be looked upon. I hope he reproduced before she got to him. Aaand I hope she doesn't, ever. And if she does I hope her children help wildlife in absolute spite of their parents.
