Today it’s World Oceans Day - We produce 311 million tons of new plastic every year. More and more plastic waste is floating in our oceans and seas and every year, about 5 million tons end up in it. 90% of seabirds now have plastic in their intestines. If we don’t do anything about the marine pollution, then in 2030 there will be no less than 300 million tonnes of plastic waste in our oceans #worldoceansday

I know people are making a great effort to change their habits, myself included. It might be a good idea to start showing how much we have done so far (which we have) since becoming awareness of these issues. It would help to motivate and encourage children of the earth to reach new targets. For example let's pick a plastic bag free day; a day when you use no plastic bags and then measure what this means.

What are you doing to minimize the use of plastic? Some brands you endorse also have micro plastic in them, e.g. L’Oreal. The Valentino posters you are on are also printed with paper mixed with plastic. It would be inspiring to learn what you do to minimize the use of plastic in your life and career. THAT would be an inspiring post.

In order to solve this problem, we need to change the laws and prosecute people for littering with a five year jail term and a $10,000 fine. If that doesn't get the job done than double the jail time and the fine until it finally sinks in and people get the message about littering.
