(wing 8 if anyone’s counting) Looking back at this picture I’m not sure why I ever questioned it, ha! In our immediate fam we have two 9’s, an 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and a 2. The only thing we are missing is a 1 which probably explains why no one remembers to change the oil in the cars, and we’re always about 10 min late, ha! The enneagram has helped us to have a greater understanding of how uniquely God created each of us, and to value those differences rather than fight against them. Plus it totally explains why Willie didn’t wear a white shirt for our family pic, if you haven’t guessed he’s the 8 and he doesn’t like to be controlled, ha! In all of this enneagram talk over the last couple of years, however, I’ve struggled figuring out my type. I’ve bounced around a bit. I decided to write about this because I think that may be a problem even more so for women because as wives, mom’s, sisters, friends...we know who we are in relation to everyone else, but maybe it’s been a while since we’ve taken the time to get to know ourselves. It’s a worthwhile endeavor, whether it’s through exploring the enneagram or some other means, taking the time to remember who God created you to be. What hopes, dreams and callings did he place inside of you? What do you love, what makes you want to lose your mind, where have you allowed fears or insecurities change who you are, when are you your best self, at peace with yourself and others, how do you recognize when your acting out of stress, or out of health and growth, what are your strengths and how can you use them more fully, what are your weaknesses and how do you offer yourself more grace in them? These are all things Ive been thinking about lately for myself so thought I’d encourage you to do the same. Take some time to remember who God made you to be, then you will be able to give your best self to all of those things that you are as a woman.」6月7日 22時09分
