I've had them before, and they've been totally fine. But last nights intensity made me confuse them with labor as the pain didn't go away when I moved around. They started at 6pm, I could hardly walk, and just able to speak. The pain was radiating from my lower back through and around to my front pelvis area. My bump was so tight, it was like a hard basketball. I thought I may have been going into labor, but my fake contractions were all over the shop, which meant they were Braxton Hicks. It's funny because after everything that I've been reading or studying on how to deal with discomfort through my @Shebirths course and also from my years of practicing yoga, just automatically kicked in like clockwork. My husband asked me how he could help with the pain, and all I could say was run me a warm bath with lavender and Epsom salts. So he did, lit some candles, turned all the lights off and played a calming Spotify playlist. As soon as I stepped into that bath and lay down, I just closed my eyes, floated and listened to the inhalation and exhalation of my d.e.e.p s.l.o.w breaths that I was directing into my belly. And funnily enough, it was the same technique that I use in yoga when I find a pose that's challenging and intense, I breathe through it. The pain almost instantly subsided and I felt so much at ease. So what I wanted to say here is that even though these were Braxton Hicks and probably nowhere near on the intensity scale of real labor pains, I was amazed at how my body knew what to do. Everyone is different in how the body deals with pain and stress, and for me, I didn't want a massage, I didn't want anyone near me, I just wanted to be on my own, in the dark to focus on my breathwork in a bath. Note deeper longer breaths in and out through the nose whilst mentally focussing or meditating will give you more movement in the bottom of your lungs, which means more oxygen is produced and hoorah... equals more ENDORPHINS and more PAIN RELIEF for YOU. #breathwork #Braxtonhicks #labourprep #pregnant #meditation #35weekspregnant」6月7日 6時39分 - biancamaycheah
