It was first recognized in 1972 and has since grown on a global scale. I hold this subject in high regard, as much of my current work is meant to share the beauty and delicacy of animals and locations around the world. This image of mother and baby shows the gentle nature of elephants, and it saddens me to say that just last week Botswana lifted its elephant hunting ban, which up until now created a sanctuary for these threatened species. It is vital that our society works to protect animals such as elephants, before they disappear from the planet.
