Coinciding with Ursula Hauser’s 80th birthday, a recently opened exhibition at @hauserwirthsomerset presents works by 11 women artists from the Swiss art and retail maven’s ‘deeply personal’ collection, among them Louise Bourgeois, Maria Lassnig, Meret Oppenheim, Lee Lozano, Sheila Hicks, and Carol Rama. The survey ‘Unconscious Landscape’ explores the long-lasting friendships that Hauser formed with these artists, and the dark and challenging existential themes that punctuate her collection.
