Halston, center, reimagined the look of American fashion — with a little help from his model friends, from left, Pat Cleveland, Chris Royer, Alva Chinn and Karen Bjornson in the 1980s. “Halston,” a documentary, comes out this week about his fabulous life and the coterie of models he drew so closely into his orbit.
