I love beach waves AND Hollywood waves, so I thought I’d show you an easy way to get both looks in one.
1️⃣ Start out by prepping the hair with @kenraprofessional #20 Hot Spray for heat protection and to give your curls staying power.
2️⃣ Once the hair is prepped you’re going to curl the hair just like you would for a regular beach wave by holding the iron vertically, the only difference is you’re going to curl all of the sections going the same direction instead of alternating towards and away from the face. Continue this all the way around the head, if the client has shorter bangs then I like to use my @ghd_northamerica Platinum Plus to give them a bend without curling up too much.
3️⃣ Once the curls are finished gently rake through the curls with your hands to create a fun beach texture. It’s super easy to transform this style into a modern Hollywood wave by simply brushing through the curls and smoothing them into place with your hands and a fine tooth comb. I like to run a little @kenraprofessional Working Wax through as I’m working to give a flawlessly smooth finish.
