In a blow to LGBTQ rights, Kenya's highest court ruled Friday that a colonial-era law banning same-sex relations should remain in place. Anyone found engaging in same-sex relationships could face up to 14 years in prison. Kenya is not alone in its decision — 38 of 55 African countries have laws that make it illegal to be gay, and it’s punishable by death in Somalia and South Sudan.
