Just spent the weekend with my grandma, aunt, and mother in Denver. These moments force gratitude and gratitude undoubtedly leads to joy. As a result I’m joy filled tonight. These are special women, leaders of families and futures. Thanks @thejacquard for putting these beauties up for the weekend! And yes the first picture is me and my grandma not me and my sister!

Can I pass onto you something I have learned through experience? I wish when my grandmother and mother were alive that I would have asked them more questions about their own history, their story. It’s no longer possible since I lost them. I tell my grandson my stories even though, as a teen, he’s not particularly interested. I just know when he’s an adult and I am someday gone, that those stories will be a part of him when he thinks of me. (I’ve take care of him for working parents since he is 6 months old)
