重要文化財「日本橋」の中央に鎮座する4体の麒麟の像をご存知ですか？この羽のある麒麟像は1911年、日本橋を木造から石造りに架け替える時に制作されたもので、「日本の道路の起点となる日本橋から飛び立つ」という意味が込められていると言われています。

At the center of Nihonbashi bridge, there are four statues of giraffes which have wings that do not appear in legend. It is said that these giraffes, established in 1911, represent the capital city rapidly growing from Nihonbashi Bridge of the starting point of major road.
