Photo by Michael Christopher Brown @michaelchristopherbrown | The Arrigetch Peaks are a cluster of rugged granite spires in the Brooks Range in northern Alaska. Their name means "fingers of the outstretched hand" in the regional Inupiat language. I was lucky to not only take aerial photographs of these beautiful peaks, but also to climb over them while photographing the National Geographic story "Circling Alaska in 176 Days," published in 2011.
