Daikozenji Temple(#大興善寺) rests at the border between Fukuoka(#福岡) and Saga(#佐賀) prefectures. It is also known to many as “Tsutsuji-dera(#ツツジ寺)”, or “azalea temple”🌺✨✨ . The temple is of the Tendai school of Buddhism, and has a history of around 1,300 years. The chief priests of the temple would take good care of the garden, and due to that, the temple has been a famous spot for azaleas. . The garden in the back of the temple, called Chigiri-en, boasts an area of 75,000㎡, and is filled with over 50,000 azaleas. . Daikozenji is beautiful year-round. During the fall, the trees on the temple ground change colors. At the tearoom on the temple grounds, you can enjoy a cup of tea while admiring the seasonal views.
