I used to believe I wanted my life to be in a frictionless state, in equilibrium, an endless boulevard of green lights. Newsflash Andrew: the frictionless state is a myth! Or at least very temporary. You’ll feel an occasional homeostasis, of course. Life is peppered with relief. Being alive is a struggle. Physically managing your health, mentally wrangling your emotional state, learning to dance with the people in your life, work, home, dogs, and every little detail that requires you to check in occasionally.
