“ ル・コルビュジエ　絵画から建築へ―ピュリスムの時代 ”を観に行って来ました。タイトルの示すように、建築家としての活動というより、初期の画家時代とその周辺にスポットをあてた企画展示でしたが、ル・コルビュジエが建築家として、何故そのキャリアをスタートさせたか？ なぜあの様な大胆な建築概念を生み出したか？という謎が少し解けた気がします。そしてなんと言っても氏の作品である国立西洋美術館の空間にいながら画家 シャルル＝エドゥアール・ジャヌレ＝グリ ( ル・コルビュジエ )の作品を見るその体験は素晴らしい時間でした。現代の建築の基礎を作った氏が,

Enjoyed the exhibition “ Le Corbusier and the Age of Purism “. As the title suggested, this exhibition focuses on his early days as a painter and his influences. I think I now have better understanding how his started his career as an architect and he he could have come up with his bold architectural concepts.
On top of that, it was wonderful experience to enjoy paintings of Charles-Édouard Jeanneret( his birth name) in the space is designed.
He created the foundation of modern architecture. I am so grateful that he did not succeed as a painter.
