As he translates seemingly simple subjects—a house, a pitcher, a chapel, a barn—from three to two dimensions or from small to large and back again, familiar images become oddly cryptic. Other instances where Therrien has grouped objects together for one work is in his "No title (group cutout, keystone, coffin, snowman, chapel, pitcher and arch)," 1985–86, which acted as a catalyst for the multiple "No title (box edition)," produced in 2011.
