Trying out beautiful bows yesterday in Brussels! 😍
In the second slide, the last bow I'm holding was made by Francois Nicolas Voirin. If you look closely, there is a tiny little hole in the eye of the bow. When you hold it up against a light and peek through, you can see a tiny portrait of Voirin's cousin and then-boss, Jean Baptiste Vuillaume! Voirin counts as one of the most important archetiers of the 19th century.
Out of this selection, I liked the amber colored tortoise-shell modern bow by Pierre Guillaume the best. It was a great match for my violin and I always learn a lot when trying out different bows other than my own! 🤓
