As I write this it’s dumping snow in RMNP and over the last five weeks its been a weekly trend 🤯Seemingly every Tuesday a storm rolls in, blanketing the park in wet spring snow, I shovel the boulder off, and wait for it to dry enough to make attempts from the start. I admit there’s been one day where I felt like friction was good enough to send the boulder, seen here in the first video, back on April 15th, and every other session, like the attempt in the second video, has just been either super humid and still or ultra dry and glassy 🤔 As “good” conditions become so rare at this location, I am forced to make attempts the few chances I get with very sub-par friction, making everything leading up to the crux feeling so much harder...every try culminating ultimately with the same scenario: loosing contact and friction on the last pocket crack, in the last moment, immediately before I move to the left hand pinch off the intermediate...and I can’t maintain the position. This seemingly simple move I have done thousand of times becomes incredibly difficult to accomplish from the start, even if it feels incredibly easy on its own. I will go shovel it off as soon as this storm departs, and hope for the best before my flight out on Monday 🇪🇸🔜 I’ve never felt so in-tune to the positions and physically capable as I do on the climb this round, thus progression in my sensations on the wall is all I have to prove to myself this process moves forward, that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel, amd I will not just perpetually fall in the same exact place 🙄 Maybe a nice sunny day with a cool breeze would help 😅 and less snow storms perhaps 🤣 thanks @arjandekock for the tree angle on that first clip 👌@fiveten_official @adidasterrex @petzl_official @climb_up_officiel @frictionlabs @climbskinspain @sendclimbing」5月9日 7時08分
