Yesterday I visited the Marlene Dietrich archive in Berlin. It was a thrill of a lifetime to see her iconic collection. This swan dress was made for her to wear to a costume party in the 1930’s in Hollywood. She attended the party with her lover “Leda” dressed as Marlene.
In Greek mythology Leda was famously seduced by Zeus when he took the form of a swan.
The entire collection is not on display sadly, however some pieces are on display at @deutsche_kinemathek.
