The collaboration between @クリスチャンディオール and 2016 @LVMH Prize winner Grace @WalesBonner started after artistic director @MariaGraziaChiuri came across Wales Bonner's multimedia exhibition at London's Serpentine Gallery this winter. "After that she asked to meet me in Paris, and told me about the collection she was working on, and then we decided to do something together for this collection. It all happened quite quickly, but it felt quite natural,” Wales Bonner explained.
For the Resort 2020 collection, Wales Bonner decided to take on the New Look and the Bar jacket—two of Monsieur Dior’s more seismic creations of the 1940s. Her interpretation of the cinched jacket and full skirt feature a leaner, more relaxed shape than Christian Dior’s originals, as well as raffia stripes and flowers trimming the jacket and skirt.
