I know we will not always agree and the great thing about America is that we all have the freedom to have our own ideas & opinions. While we have the freedom to express those opinions on social media, it is important to remember that, in a democracy like ours, we all have an even stronger ability to make our opinions heard by exercising our right to vote. As @barackobama always says, “Don’t boo. Vote!” On another note, I wanted to share this @nytimes article that was written last year - 'God Bless America': 100 Years of an Immigrant’s Anthem. It tells the story of how the classic piece of music originated from a boy who fled religious persecution in Russia with his family in 1893, was separated from his parents by immigration officials and was later reunited and allowed to enter the country. That little boy, born Israel Beilin, would grow up to become Irving Berlin. Twenty-five years after emigrating, the same year he became an American citizen, Berlin composed “God Bless America”.
