You have to enjoy the process if you don’t the journey will be miserable, I worked on this photo for 5 months, I know you may look at it and say it’s so simple, but if I am being honest with myself it was longer than 5 months it was years. This is my newest dye transfer print only 3 will ever be made, I am happy to announce before I even released it @johnny_mocker_ has added this to his Collection so now only 2 are left and that’s it this image will never be printed again, this is the largest I have ever made, 30 by 30 inches, Why did it take so long you ask, well it took 4 months for the shoes to be completed, they were hand made customized to @alliemarieevans feet each sequin hand placed and to scale and exact replica of the shoes in the Wizard of Oz, Technicolor is the same type of process as Dye Transfer so this is my homage to the film. We built the brick road which I hand painted after all that I had to decide which camera to use as well as the lights and look I wanted for this, I ended up using an old Toyo 4x5 camera which gave me the depth and look I wanted and @adrianpruett helped me design a lighting set up for this that I had never used before. Then it was time to make the print, for anyone who doesn’t know a Dye Transfer is one of the rarest and best color photographic prints that ever existed, sadly it has been extinct since 1994, but I have found the last or one of the last people in the world who can make this type of print (swipe right if you want to see) This is part of my new series FAIRYTALE. Do you remember the first time you saw the Wizard of Oz? Where would you hang this photo?」4月26日 1時53分 - thetylershields
