A common Sicilian dessert during Easter is the “Cuddura”. Once shaped like a donut, shepherds would carry this dessert by sticking it around their arms so as to bring it along comfortably on their long journeys. Nowadays, other shapes of this dessert have emerged such as little birds and colourful baskets. Sicilian “Cuddura” or "Pupi cu l'ova" or "Aceddi cu l'ova" will always have hard-boiled eggs in the center, representative of the cycle of life.
