アレックス・オノルドさんのインスタグラム写真 - (アレックス・オノルドInstagram)「*Long, rambling post to come* This is a photo of @samuelcrossley and me on the summit of something in the Sierra many years ago. Sam’s an extremely talented photographer and videographer and all around lovely human. He cold called @cedarwright during Sufferfest 1, a bike tour that we did together in the Sierra, and joined us to shoot while he was still in film school. More recently he helped with @freesolofilm (almost missing finals from film school to make it happen) for the full 2 years of production. And then he shot photos of a lot of the film release tour. Basically, I’ve gotten to watch Sam blossom from a young film student into a legitimate mountain man who can shoot in any environment. I’m writing this because I was up far too late last night ruminating about death and loss in the climbing world and just generally depressed about the state of things. It’s been a rough few years for the climbing community and sometimes it’s just hard. A friend had encouraged me to listen to a podcast with Sam (maybe his first of what will surely be many interviews in his life??). I took great pleasure in reliving 6 years of outdoor adventures through his eyes. Sam’s interviewed me (or helped others interview me) dozens of times for various films - it was great to hear his version of everything. I’ve been climbing for 23 years now I think (!!). Sometimes I feel a little old and tired. Particularly after terrible accidents. But listening to Sam helped remind me what it’s like to be a young man taking his first steps into the adventurous outdoors. Maybe it’s just inspiring for me to see someone on the up and up, particularly someone who’s so kind and deserving. Anyway, I know this is a ramble - I just appreciate Sam and really enjoyed hearing this podcast last night. Check out the link in my bio if interested (no guarantee it will mean as much if you hasn’t already spent 6 years working with him, but it filled me with joy). Also, don’t judge @samuelcrossley’s work from the random pics I scrounged up on my computer - check out his page to see his real talent. I just dug up what I had from old adventures...」4月21日 10時33分 - alexhonnold
